Sunscreen is a crucial element in ensuring that you can enjoy a sunny day out on the boat without doing long-term damage to your health. It’s easy to write off an afternoon without sunscreen as not a major concern, but it can do real damage if you aren’t careful.
Sun rays can cause sunburn and even skin cancer. They can also lead to your skin aging and wrinkling long before you reach senior citizen status.
Do yourself a favor and take proper precautions before heading out onto the water. These steps should especially include applying sunscreen, but also potentially a hat and sunglasses to protect your skin from the elements. Consider using sunscreen that has a Sun Protection Factor, or SPF, of at least 30; this should make for a strong enough product to prevent the worst effects of the sun.
