DID THEY VISIT YOU TOO?
Every year, without fail the Robin redbreasts show up poking around in all the leaves in my "Au Naturel", front yard. Then, they are gone! Heading northbound.
Comedian, Bill Engvall would say...."here's yer sign!"
Those Robins are rarely, WRONG!
Spring is here, on land.
My thoughts are, "if you want to see how the fish act, just watch the birds." I'm not a diver, so they are the easiest for me to watch and learn from.
There are many other natural signs that winter is officially over in N.E. Florida and Springtime are here.
Watch the water temps closely. As Anglers, all you need to know in N.E. Florida is...''when Spanish Mackerel hit the inlet, it's game on!''
At this writing, it was just 10 days ago I was out on the river with a 20-25 knot freezing cold wind, no fish catching day.
And, the river temp was hovering in the 58-59 degree zone, on my Garmin sounder.
Then, over the course of just a few days it jumped up to 65, and on a low tide in Mill Cove, I saw 68 degrees!
Wow, that was fast!
I'd think every "Guru" would agree that some of the best fishing inshore is that magical 68-72 degree mark.
And it's fast, fast approaching! (if not here already).
I said this in my last report. And here it is again.
The "inshore" easy-to-do list:
Spawning Sheepshead
Spawning Speckled Trout
Black Drum, small ones to Monsters
Spawning Whiting
And by April, BIG Bull Redfish in the river, willing to double over a rod!
Spanish Mackerel, by April for sure.
TAKE THE KIDS FISHING!
