Florida doesn’t have a boating license requirement in the strictest sense of the word, but there are age-restrictions to keep in mind when it comes to boating. These requirements are in place to ensure that young people have enough supervision and counsel as well as maturity in place before they are given the opportunity to take large vessels out onto the water.
That’s why nobody under the age of 14 years old is permitted to operate a personal watercraft on Florida waters at any time. As there are exemptions to most of Florida’s boating regulations depending on the specifics of the situation, you may want to brush up on the requirements laid out on the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee.
