November 8 Weekend Fishing Report

It's dead, and everyone eats it!

Lately, every time I want to move on and "not" catch more Bull Redfish in the river and at the jetties it seems that's just what happens....again.

You'd think, for the big Redfish from the teens to 25 pounds plus, a big chunk of Ladyfish, a Blue Crab, or a 6 inch long live Mullet would be the perfect bait for them.

But, the wonderful thing about this time of year is:

"You don't have to feed them steak when a piece of hot dog will do."

I love K.I.S.S. fishing.

"Keep it simple, STUPID!"

And here’s what I mean.

Starting a few weeks ago, I have not left the dock without several POUNDS OF FRESH DEAD SHRIMP!  The bait my ole "sea-daddy" (known as the guy who forgot more than many will ever know) used to say to me, "don't leave home without it. Everything eats a shrimp!"

Sure you can always carry dozens of live shrimp, Blue Crabs, and Mullet, many do. But the point is, KISS FISHING!

For days and days in a row, week after week I may try and get all fancy myself.  I am a "float-rig freak".  And that means dozens of live shrimp to feed to all the bait stealers.  Especially, when we don't find a decent Trout bite.

But the day saver has been in my blue Maxwell house coffee container. A few pounds of big dead shrimp.

Here is just a small sample of what was caught “KISS Fishing” in the last few weeks.
