The hot topic this month is wahoo!!!

large wahoo held by two fisherman

There have been several boats and multiple successful wahoo fishing trips over the past few weeks. High speed trolling large lures between 10-15 knots seems to work best, allowing anglers to cover large areas looking for fish. Range seems to be from 40-75 miles offshore for best results.

Bottom fishing way offshore, over 40 miles, has been producing good catches of vermilion snapper, triggerfish, red porgy, amberjack, almaco jack, some African pompano, and a few mangrove snapper and mutton snapper. When targeting triggerfish and vermilion snapper, a good tip would be to use a small hook and small piece of bait, either cut bait or cut squid.

Inside 40 miles, your best bet would be vermilion snapper, black sea bass, a few triggerfish, ringtail porgies, and a few cobia.
